Our Dedication

The Seeds of Success program focuses on food access and food justice and is just one of the many Community Action Duluth (CAD) programs that works towards an ultimate goal of alleviating poverty.

Our programming draws in hundreds of youths every season who participate in formal and informal educational opportunities at the urban garden and farmers markets that are operated by the Seeds of Success program. Youth can also participate in the Power of Produce (PoP) program which provides them with $4 in PoP tokens to spend on fresh local produce every time they visit the farmers markets.

We have a variety of programs that aim to increase healthy food access for youth, elders, and SNAP participants through free produce programs and matching market bucks. These programs significantly stretch the food dollars of those attending the markets and allow them to purchase more fresh and locally produced goods.

Through valued partnerships with local organizations and business, we can offer a wide variety of opportunities for people visiting the markets including things like:

  • Free yoga and dance classes
  • Healthy cooking demos
  • Bike to the Market Day
  • Free bike maintenance
  • Family friendly activities
  • Live music, and more!
